files/pictures/picture-23.jpgCommotion, the award-winning visual effects application, is now available for Windows NT. Commotion version 2.1 marks Puffin Designs' first release for Macintosh and Windows NT. This highly anticipated release is a direct result of requests from thousands of NT-based effects artists who wanted to use Commotion on their platform of choice. Both versions are functionally and visually identical, enabling users to work in either environment without having to find work-arounds for interface or workflow differences.
"Ever since I first heard about Commotion, I've been waiting for it to come out for NT. There are so many NT-based post houses with the rising popularity of NT as a predominant 3D platform, and there is a great need for a complimentary paint & effects application like Commotion. We work on demanding visual effects shots for shows like "Star Trek Voyager" and Commotion on NT will be an integral part of our production pipeline," commented Sherry Hitch, Visual Effects Compositing Supervisor, Foundation Imaging, Valencia, CA.
Commotion quickly rose to popularity among leading effects artists for its unprecedented image editing, matte creation, and motion tracking tools. Since its first release, two years ago, Commotion has evolved to include dramatically expanded creative capabilities required by artists working in film, broadcast, and digital content creation. Commotion's creative tool set includes dozens of filter effects, over 200 preset FX Brushes for creating textured and stylized media brush effects, text creation tools, multiple undo, and support for 3rd party filter plug-ins. Commotions solid image editing, effects tools, filters, and precise motion tracking bring workstation functionality to the desktop.
