Los Angeles, California -- The Los Angeles Chapter of ACM SIGGRAPH and the Gnomon School of Visual Effects present "CG Lighting Panel and Technology Presentation," sponsored by The Foundry, on Thursday, February 16. Industry luminaries will present the latest in ground-breaking CG lighting as realized by Look Effects, Sony Pictures Imageworks and Walt Disney Animation Studios. The evening will conclude with a technology showcase of KATANA by The Foundry.
The opening panel discussion will be moderated by Rob Bredow, CTO of Sony Pictures Imageworks. Panelists include Josh Mossotti of Look Effects; Kevin Souls of Sony Picture Imageworks; and Alessandro Jacomini of Walt Disney Animation Studios. Andy Lomas from The Foundry will demonstrate the workflow in KATANA.

Admittance is free to Members of LA ACM SIGGRAPH & current Gnomon students with Gnomon School Identification. Membership to LA ACM SIGGRAPH is open to all individuals interested in Computer Graphics. Non-Members of LA ACM SIGGRAPH are admitted for $ 20.00. New LA ACM SIGGRAPH Members who sign up on-site, and pay the $ 40.00 annual Membership fee (checks or cash only), are admitted free of additional charge.
Gnomon School of Visual Effects is an innovative training facility that offers artistic and technical training for careers in the visual effects and games industries, with both structured programs and individual courses. In March of 2011, Fast Company Magazine included Gnomon School of Visual Effects in its list of the 10 Most Innovative Companies in Film.
