Dutch animation house Studio Smack -- Ton Meijdam, Thom Snels and Béla Zsigmond -- helps Greenpeace bring home its message about the alarming rate of disappearing species by removing the animals from the opening sequence of Disney’s The Lion King.
“Hack into Disney's classic The Lion King, where we removed all animals from the movie's title sequence,” reads a message on the Studio Smack Vimeo page. “Leaving us with the beautiful yet oppressive backgrounds of the African savanna.”
The work was made in cooperation with Greenpeace NL and is currently part of their online magazine GPM appearing four times a year. Watch it, below:
