Long-running animated series South Park received an Emmy Award for Outstanding Animated Program last night at the 2012-2013 Creative Arts Primetime Emmy Awards, as awarded by the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences.
Five-time Emmy winner South Park was awarded the Emmy for the “Raising the Bar” episode, which addresses childhood obesity and famously features America’s Sweetheart, Honey Boo Boo. (Watch the full episode here.) The series has also won the prestigious Peabody Award for Excellence in Broadcasting.
South Park returns for its 17th season with ten all-new episodes beginning on Wednesday, September 25 at 10:00 p.m. ET/PT on COMEDY CENTRAL. The all-new episodes from this season are available in HD exclusively on XBOX Live, iTunes, Sony Entertainment Network, Amazon Instant Video, Vudu, and Samsung Media Hub.
