South Park Creators Re-Up Three More Years & 42 New Episodes on Comedy Central
Comedy Central and SOUTH PARK creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone have renewed their contract in a deal that will keep the creative duo at the cable channel through the end of 2008.
Viewers may look forward to three more years of SOUTH PARK episodes with 14 new episodes each year. Parker and Stone will continue under the new agreement to write, direct, voice and edit every episode, as they have since the creation of the show.
New episodes of SOUTH PARK will begin on October 19, 2005, at 10:00 pm. Launched in 1997, the Emmy-nominated SOUTH PARK, now in its ninth season, remains the highest-rated series on Comedy Central.
"I was at Comedy Central when we launched the first season of SOUTH PARK and I am thrilled to see them continue through 2008," says Doug Herzog, president, Comedy Central. "Matt and Trey are creative geniuses and a huge part of the Comedy Central family and we look forward to continued success."
Parker and Stones deal was negotiated by their attorney Kevin Morris of Barnes, Morris, Klein, Mark, Yorn, Barnes & Levine. They are also represented by William Morris. Comedy Central (www.comedycentral.com), the only all-comedy network, currently is seen in more than 87 million homes nationwide. Comedy Central is owned by Comedy Partners, a wholly-owned division of MTV Networks. COMEDY CENTRAL is a registered trademark of Comedy Partners.
