Side Effects’ Houdini Tapped to Create ‘De Planeta’ Short
De Planeta (latin for “about a planet”) is a short and stylized procedural animation by Bournemouth University student Leonardo Cavaletti.
Made for his final year Major Project at the Undergraduate Computer Visualization and Animation course at the NCCA, the short film revolves around the birth, life and death of a little planet. It shows all the colorful wonders the planet has to offer by following it through the ages with a fast-paced and engaging rhythm that culminates in the triumph of modernity over nature, with all the consequences that may follow upon it.
De Planeta was created entirely in Side Effects Software’s Houdini, with composting completed inside The Foundry’s Nuke. Watch it, below:
