SDCC News: Tr2n VFX Test, Toy Story 3, Batman 3, Train Your Dragon
A day after the Disney 3-D panel, which prominently featured a glimpse into TRON: LEGACY, we have the official online debut of the Grid VFX Concept Test that was shown last year at SDCC.
The sequel to the groundbreaking TRON opens holiday 2010 season, is directed by Joseph Kosinski and stars Garrett Hedlund, Jeff Bridges, Bruce Boxleitner, Olivia Wilde and Beau Garrett.
Speaking of Disney, at the studio's illustrious Animation panel today, TOY STORY 3 director Lee Unkrich confirmed that Michael Keaton will voice Ken in the upcoming sequel. John Lasseter added that the entire voice cast will return, that Barbie will have a larger role and that emotional core of this one will be totally different
Looks like the next BATMAN movie will start shooting next year, according to Gary Oldman (Commissioner Gordon), speaking today at the Warner Bros. BOOK OF ELI panel.
Also, DreamWorks Animation announced that Chris Sanders, director of HOW TO TRAIN YOUR DRAGON (bowing March 26, 2010), will be handing out limited edition concept art lithographs at Comic-Con, Saturday and Sunday, at booth #4921. The image was created by Art Director Pierre-Olivier Vincent.
The adventure comedy is set in the mythical world of Vikings and wild dragons and based on the book by Cressida Cowell. The voice cast includes Jay Baruchel, Gerard Butler, America Ferrara, Jonah Hill, Christopher Mintz-Plasse, Craig Ferguson, Kristen Wiig and T.J. Miller.
