VARIETY reports that San Diego's Tourism Marketing District board is offering Comic-Con hotel tax revenue as an incentive to stay in the city. The board will pay Comic-Con organizers $100,000 each year from 2011 through 2015. However, the money is contingent on Comic-Con extending its contract with the city from 2013 to 2015. Tourism Marketing District board believes Comic-Con's worldwide exposure is good advertising for the city. Anaheim and Los Angeles are trying to lure the Con away with their own sweet incentives. Comic-Con is expected to make a decision in the next few weeks where its home will be starting in 2013.
