Rob Moore New President at Paramount Pictures
Rob Moore joins Paramount Pictures as president, worldwide marketing, distribution and operations, responsible for domestic and international marketing and distribution, administration, legal and business affairs, and backlot operations.
Moore comes to Paramount from Joe Roth's Revolution Studios, where he served as Roth's partner overseeing the film and media production company for the past five years. Prior to Revolution, Moore served at the Walt Disney Studio for 13 years, most recently as evp of operations and finance.
"Rob brings to Paramount the most impressive combination of expertise in operations, strategic dealmaking, and marketing and distribution in the business, said Brad Grey, chairman/ceo of Paramount Pictures, to whom Moore reports. With his knowledge and experience, Rob will play an integral role in our growth both domestically and around the world."
At Disney, Moore was responsible for the business and daily operating activities of the studio, including live-action and animated feature films, TV animation, television production, theatrical and video marketing, distribution, music operations and Disney's stage play business. He spearheaded numerous strategic relationships for the studio, including Disney's partnership with Pixar Animation Studios and the acquisition of Miramax Films.
Moore joins studio president Gail Berman, who was appointed in March, on Grey's new senior exec team in his restructuring of the 93-year old studio's operations, which includes a shift in the studio's title and reporting system. In the more streamlined structure, Berman, Moore, and cfo Mark Badagliacca, as well as Paramount Home Ent. president Tom Lesinski, and Paramount's specialty film division, Paramount Classics, will report directly to Grey.
"I am excited by Brad's vision for Paramount and am looking forward to being part of this new team," said Moore. "I'm proud of all of our accomplishments in building Revolution Studios and want to thank Joe Roth for the opportunities he has given me which have prepared me for this new challenge."
"Brad Grey could not have found a better person in Hollywood to oversee Paramount's operations. Smart, decisive and experienced, Rob will help complete a terrific new management team," said Roth of Revolution Studios.
Moore was responsible for Revolution Studios day-to-day operations. Under Moore's leadership with Roth, along with Revolution partner Tom Sherak and former partner Todd Garner, the Sony-based studio released such films as AMERICA'S SWEETHEARTS, BLACK HAWK DOWN, PUNCH DRUNK LOVE, MAID IN MANHATTAN, ANGER MANAGEMENT, 13 GOING ON 30 and WHITE CHICKS, plus the upcoming RENT and FREEDOMLAND.
Paramount Pictures is part of the entertainment operations of Viacom Inc., one of the world's largest entertainment and media companies and a leader in the production, promotion and distribution of entertainment news, sports and music.
