POW! Ent. Licenses High-Tech and Traditional Products
Stan Lees POW! Entertainment forged two deals to further the companys brands in the consumer product arena. One is for a line of high-tech toys and gizmos, starting with digital jewelry, while the other covers apparel and accessories.
In the first deal, POW! signed with invention studio Infinite Machines, LLC, headed by John Boucard, for POWER PATROL, a new line of digital jewelry and wearables. The products are able to transfer digital superpowers attained in an online game to a set of rings. The rings can transfer data back and forth, unlocking additional powers, games, points and missions for players. The rings interact with a website (www.power-patrol.com), which can only be accessed by members or possessors of the rings. Secret missions from Stan Lee to the ring bearers can be digitally embedded in all kinds of promotional and consumer products, such as trading cards, movie theaters, posters, DVDs or quick-service restaurants, and additional items are being developed.
Meanwhile, POW! joined with Cinder Block, a merchandising, licensing and design company, to create apparel and apparel-related products featuring the Pow! Entertainment brand and the likeness of Stan Lee. The merchandise will be distributed online and through traditional wholesale channels.
POW! (Purveyors of Wonder) Entertainment, Inc. (www.powentertainment.com) was founded by world famous comic book icon Stan Lee, together with Gill Champion and Arthur Lieberman. POWs principals, combined, have more than a hundred years experience creating, producing, and licensing original intellectual properties.
