Announcement from Millimages:
The 62 x 11-minute animated preschool series, commissioned by France Télévisions and Disney Channel UK, has been acquired by ABC TV and is scheduled to air later this year.
Mouk has already been picked up by KiKA in Germany and by Disney for its networks in France, Italy, Spain, Portugal, Benelux, Scandinavia, Eastern Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
Barbara Uecker, ABC TV Children’s Head of Programming and Acquisitions said: “We are thrilled to be bringing this exciting series to our Australian ABC4Kids preschooler audience. It is an inspriational series which will encourage preschoolers to learn more about the world around them.”
John Reynolds, Group Commercial Director at Millimages adds: “Mouk is capturing the imagination of broadcasters around the globe and we are delighted that the show will be seen by children in Australia as well as across Europe. We look forward to securing further deals at MIPTV.”
Based on the work of Marc Boutavant and directed by François Narboux, the show revolves around Mouk and his buddy Chavapa, two globetrotters who explore the world on their bicycles.
From Ouagadougou to New York, from Australia to Madagascar and Greece, the two buddies discover the world and its inhabitants... and as everything's different from home, adventure is always at the end of the road!
Preschool viewers can join them as they discover new countries and the many wonderful things that inhabit these places. As they travel around the globe, they keep Popo, their home loving friend and his sister Mita, up to date with all the news of their travels.
Millimages holds all international TV and licensing and merchandising rights to the property.
