Toy Biz Head to Lead Marvel Publishing

files/pictures/picture-35.jpgMarvel Enterprises has announced that Alan Fine, president/ceo of Marvel's Toy Biz division, will take on the additional role of president/ceo of Marvel Publishing. Fine is replacing Gui Karyo, who left his post as Marvel Publishings president/cio to pursue new business opportunities.
Fine joined Marvel in 1996 and served as Marvel coo from 1996-1998 after which he became president/ceo of Toy Biz. In 2001, Fine took a brief hiatus from his role as Toy Bizs president/ceo and worked as independent consultant for the company. Previously, he was coo of Kay-Bee Toys.
In addition, David Cho has been hired as the new cio. He previously served as svp of applications and operations for McGraw Hill. Former evp of sales Ralph Lancelotti and svp of product development Joann McLaughlin have been named as co-coos of Toy Biz.
