Radium, with studios in San Francisco and Santa Monica, California, has hired three new people to bolster various areas of the growing visual effects company. Julie Luehrman is on board as VP marketing & sales, based in the companys San Francisco location. Executive producer Matthew McManus and technical operations manager Michael Chizzo have joined the Los Angeles office.
Before joining Radium, Luehrman was VP of sales & marketing at Complete Pandemonium in San Francisco where she developed new business and public relations for the production company and its directors Spaz Williams, Mark Dippé and Richard Kizu-Blair. Luehrman began her 12-year career at Turner Broadcasting Systems where she headed marketing for a large sales division. She then moved west to work as sales director for E! Entertainment Television Networks and handled music and movie account development with such clients as Universal Pictures at AOL.
McManus recently was a freelance producer bidder for such companies as Biscuit Filmworks, Go Film, Lookout Entertainment and IMAX Entertainment. Previously he was head of production at Fahrenheit Films and then at M-80 Films where he was promoted to executive producer. He was production manager at Dream Quest Images where he produced many commercials as well as the short films THE CHAMPION and FEEL. McManus will collaborate closely with Anastacia Feldman, Radium executive producer in San Francisco, to share management responsibilities.
Chizzo was chief engineer at Avenue Edit, personally designing, installing and supervising all technical aspects of the facility was responsible for budgeting plus purchase proposals. Chizzo began his career as a staff engineer at WLUK TV-11 in Wisconsin, then moved on to Swell Pictures as an engineer and participated in the construction of Swells digital facility in Chicago.
