Kristen Buckley Named VP, Programming, Nickelodeon

Kristen Buckley has been promoted from director to vp of programming for Nickelodeon, responsible for managing and maximizing Nickelodeon's on-air inventory. She develops strategic promotional and media plans in support of the network's initiatives and its ancillary businesses. Buckley oversees the implementation of these plans by partnering with the on-air creative teams on assignments and concepts for tune-in, events, packaged and live dayparts, as well as Nickelodeon Movies.
"Kristen is a well-respected and talented executive who continually succeeds in keeping Nickelodeon's air fresh and maintaining its status of the number-one kids' TV channel," said Pete Danielsen, svp of programming, to whom she will continue to report. "Her new role acknowledges her expertise and contribution to the success of the network."
Additionally, she develops client-driven programming and promotional stunts with the marketing and ad sales departments and builds on-air events that increase ratings and support franchise development. Buckley also partners with production on live events such as NICKELODEON'S KIDS' CHOICE AWARDS and Let's Just Play.
Buckley joined Nickelodeon as a senior coordinator of programming. She helped launch TV Land and was the channel's first official hire. Prior to joining Nickelodeon, she held positions in media planning at Young and Rubicam Inc., the advertising agency in New York City.
