Variety . Based on Philip K. Dick's short story, the plot follows a human that is made the king of a group of elves (and one dwarf) after he saves them from a troll attack. Chris Williams (BOLT) is overseeing the development.
Before Pixar joined the Disney ranks, BROTHER BEAR's Aaron Blaise and Robert Walker were set to direct a version for a 2012 release. But after John Lasseter took over, the project was put back into development.
The new version is being eyed for a holiday 2013 release.
Lasseter and Chuck Williams are producing.
