Variety . The reason is being reported as creative differences. Russell was also set to rewrite the script from Thomas Dean Donnelly and Joshua Oppenheimer. The studio is still looking for a scribe to rework the script.
Russell's FIGHTER star Mark Wahlberg was set to star alongside Robert De Niro and Joe Pesci. It's unlikely they will stay with a new director. Avi Arad, Ari Arad, Charles Roven and Alex Gartner are the producers.
