Visual effects, broadcast design and animation studio Click 3x has brought on Jim Collins to head the studios animation department. Formerly with the design boutique TZ, Collins has experience in animation, illustration and compositing, and has credits across a variety of media. His experience is particularly strong in broadcast graphics, having recently completed projects for NBC, CBS News, CNBC, MSNBC, Fox, ESPN, Sci Fi Channel and CNNSI. He also has numerous credits in commercials. "We look for people who can contribute on many levels and Jim is that kind of artist," said Click 3x executive producer Jason Mayo. "He is adept at many tools, both the leading animation packages and compositing tools, such as Flame and Inferno." Mayo said Collins will be an especially strong asset to Click 3xs expanding broadcast design unit which has kicked into high gear since creative director Iain Greenway and broadcast design marketing director Cathlyn Cantone joined the studio last month. Collins had been a senior animator with TZ since 1994. During that time, he did extensive work for HBO on promos, IDs and show graphics packages. Collins also did animation work on the main title sequences used in the last two seasons of the CBS reality-series SURVIVOR.
