Oxygen Gets Addicted To Love –- And Animation
As part of Oxygen's "Addicted To Love" week, the cable network will premiere BEHIND THE KISS, a one-hour special created by animator Corky Quakenbush. Created in stop-motion animation, this special features a spoof of talk show host Charlie Rose interviewing actors Tom Hanks, Julia Roberts, Meg Ryan, Barbra Streisand, Richard Gere, Ellen DeGeneres and Julie Andrews at the premieres of Hollywood movie parodies, including XENA, WARRIOR PRINCESS DIARIES, ROMEO AND J. LOET, AN OFFICER AND A YENTLMAN, HANNIBAL: YOU'VE GOT MEAL and BITANIC. The spoof will be followed by ANIMATED LOVE, a one-hour special featuring the best romance episodes from Oxygen's popular animated series, X-CHROMOSOME. Four cartoon heroines all display their various addictions to true love in episodes from HEY MONIE, FAT GIRL, AVENUE AMY and POND LIFE. BEHIND THE KISS airs Sunday March 10 at 10:00 pm and ANIMATED LOVE follows at 11:00 pm.
Oxygen's flagship showcase of animation, X-Chromosome is designed to bring the female viewpoint to television. Heather Kenyon reveals that it is doing even more than that.
