NVIDIA Sponsors Animation Pipeline Lecture Tour in India
NVIDIA Corp. announced a lecture tour that invites professionals in the Indian film industry to experience and learn about the latest in digital post-production techniques.
The lectures will take place on the following dates:
* April 16: Mumbai -- Hotel Taj Lands End, 2:00 pm -- 5:00 pm* April 18: Chennai -- Hotel Taj Coromandel, 2:00 pm -- 5:00 pm* April: 20: Delhi -- Marriott Welcom Hotel, 2:00 pm -- 5:00 pm
In November, NVIDIA launched its "Digital Bollywood" initiative, aimed at supporting the digital content creation (DCC) industry in India, which is emerging as a major contributor to the global film industry. Now, with this lecture tour, NVIDIA is offering professionals from studios and industry across India the opportunity to gain expertise in optimizing pipeline production and workflow.
The April lecture series, titled "CG Animation Studio Essentials: A Formula for Success, Feature Productions and Infrastructure," will be delivered by two of California's most prominent animation pipeline specialists: George Bruder and Marlon Montgomery, well known for their work on such features as SHREK, SHREK 2, ANTZ and MADAGASCAR. Attendees will also have the opportunity to question the speakers, network with industry colleagues, and receive a free DVD offering training for NVIDIA Gelato film rendering software.
Dan Vivoli, svp of marketing at NVIDIA, explained: "Both George Bruder and Marlon Montgomery have a wealth of experience in post-production for feature films, animation, broadcast commercials, and music videos and we're delighted to be bringing their expertise to Indian audiences. Because NVIDIA is a neutral party, we are ideally positioned to enable initiatives like this, which will help the DCC community in India realize its creative potential and take its place at the centre of the international stage."
Places for the events will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. Register online at www.nvidia.in/object/nv_reg.html.
