Now and Zen Debut Apparel Programs for Chowder and Flapjack
Tuesday marks the debut of consumer products campaigns for two of Cartoon Network's top-rated original comedy series, CHOWDER and FLAPJACK, as Now and Zen Productions was named the apparel partner for both brands. This marks the first licensing deal for each brand, with product launching at specialty retailers nationwide this spring. The apparel lines from Now and Zen will include T-shirts and fleece tops for both juniors and young men and will bring the whimsical tone and humor of the shows to fans.
Created by C.H. Greenblatt, CHOWDER chronicles the magical misadventures of a young chef's apprenticeship in the fantastical city of Marzipan where each day is filled with surreal situations and avoiding one disaster of another. During its first season run on Cartoon Network, CHOWDER was the network's #1 prime-time program among kids 6-11 and boys 6-11, according to Nielsen Media Research. Additionally, the series is the main course to the network's Har Har Tharsdays which airs from 7:30-10 p.m. ET/PT each week and provides kids with destination viewing for their favorite comedy series.
FLAPJACK is centered upon the lives of an impressionable young boy, Flapjack, and his two advice-giving best friends: a crusty old pirate called Captain K'nuckles and a wise-talking blue whale, Bubbie, whose mouth they call "home, sweet home." Armed with an overwhelming desire to be known as a true "Adventurer," Flapjack will do anything to follow his quest to reach a fabled floating island, no matter the number of insurmountable obstacles or overwhelming dangers he might face. THE MARVELOUS MISADVENTURES OF FLAPJACK is created by Thurop Van Orman and produced at Cartoon Network Studios in Burbank, California.
