Press release from MPC:
MPC announced the imminent arrival of Senior VFX Supervisor Paul O'Shea to its LA office as Creative Director. O'Shea, who joins MPC from The Mill Los Angeles, brings a wealth of experience with credits for heavy-hitting brands such as Old Spice, Nissan, Canon, HP, Stella Artois, Audi, Chevrolet, Coca-Cola, Nike, Toyota, among many others.
The expanse of creative outlets for Paul to excel in was the determining factor for his move, with MPC's Santa Monica office about to open the second floor.
This will be O'Shea's second run with MPC, as he spent several years in the studio's London office. "We've been working for some time to get Paul back into the MPC family, and we welcome him back enthusiastically," noted MPC LA MD Andrew Bell. "With his base skills as a master Flame artist and VFX supervisor for both commercials and features, he is the perfect appointment as Creative Director."
Outside of the commercial space, O'Shea's feature film credits include Disney's The Odd Life of Timothy Green and Tony Scott's Unstoppable. His music video work includes the Tim Burton-directed Bones, Paul McCartney's Dance Tonight by Michel Gondry, and Vanessa Paradis's Incendie with Johnny Depp.
O'Shea's background also includes a run as head of 2D at Asylum and work as a demo artist for Discreet Logic. Over the course of his career, he has built an impressive history of working with top directors - including Christian Loubek, Fredrik Bond, Malcolm Venville, Tom Kuntz, Jake Scott, Andrew Douglas and Gerard De Thame - and agencies, including Goodby Silverstein & Partners, Wieden+Kennedy, TBWA/Chiat/Day, David & Goliath, Fallon, and Saatchi to name a few.
