Moscow's Generation Campus Announces Animation Lab
Moscow, Russia --
Generation Campus has announced the names of the tutors of its 2013 edition Generation Campus, an annual international training program fostering creative and professional development of young and talented filmmakers, will be held this year for the fifth time.
From 19 to 25 June selected directors, script writers, DOPs, producers, composers and music producers, documentary filmmakers, actors and animators will perfect their skills at 8 labs under the guidance of the best professionals from Russia and all over the world.
This year Animation lab will be held for the first time at Generation Campus and it is dedicated to characters development. Now any animation artist or director who meets the program requirements can send short synopsis of his or her project (animation full length or short film, series) as well as sketches of the main characters using the form available at www.generation-campus.ru.
10 applicants will be selected by the jury. Selected winners will continue developing their characters at Generation Campus guided by the professionals.
The Lab’s Master is Carlos Lascano, a famous director, script writer, animator and illustrator with unique style. To create his works he constantly looks for new techniques, mixes digital means and shooting real objects. He manages to create commercial as well as art house projects, preserving his own outstanding style.
Lascano’s works have more than 30 international awards. He became a nominee of Goya Award for Best Picture; he was on the long list of the American Film Academy. In 2011 Amnesty International invited Lascano to write a script and co-produce as well as direct their official film dedicated to organization’s fiftieth anniversary.
Other labs at Generation Campus are also guided by outstanding professionals, among them Oleg Miroshnikov, Liana Nyquist, Kristof Konrad, Jean-Louis Rodrigue, Yair Lev, Antoine Cattin, Boris Mitich, Pascal Breton, Alexey Rodionov, Marcos Kantis, Alexandr Manotskov, Christian Berger to name but a few.
