Michael Green, who co-wrote Warner Bros.’ Green Lantern, is in negotiations to work on the follow up film to the classic 1982 film, Blade Runner, according to a report by The Hollywood Reporter.
Hampton Fancher, who wrote the screenplay for the original movie, did the initial draft of the sequel, to be directed by Ridley Scott.
Not much is known aobut the script except that it is to be set several years after the events of the original sci-fi movie starring Harrison Ford and Rutger Hauer.
Alcon’s Broderick Johnson and Andrew Kosoveare producing the sequel with Bud Yorkin and Cynthia Sikes Yorkin, along with Scott.
In addition to Lantern, Green worked on superhero projects The Flash and Fantastic Four. He recently completed rewrites on Robopocalypse, Steven Spielberg’s recently shelved sci-fi tentpole, as well as the Warner Bros. Moses project, Gods and Kings.
