Massive Joins Forces with PSYOP
The New York vfx scene has just got more competitive with the formation of Massive Industries, a division of creative design collective PSYOP that is co-founded by former Method Studios vfx artist Chris Staves and exec producer Justin Lane. Massive brings to New York expertise for ultra-progressive vfx along with high-end design.
Lane commented, Our goal is to bring high-end visual effects to the creatively-inspiring streets of New York. Being half way between Los Angeles and London, and with the increasingly global approach to talent-driven advertising, we feel New York has the potential to be the epicenter of hard-hitting visual effects and design.
Massive Industries strong pedigree is grounded in Staves' and Lanes depth and breadth of long-term experience in the visual effects market. The versatile new company will continue to work with established directors, directly with agencies and in collaboration with PSYOP as projects require.
While at Method Studios, Staves and Lane worked in close collaboration with directors such as Mark Romanek, Gore Verbinski, Michael Haussman, Roman Coppola and Dayton/Faris, and with an extensive list of agencies such as Wieden & Kennedy, BBDO, McCann Erickson and Goodby.
Massive Industries (www.massive.tv) is located in Manhattans lower East Side, adjacent to the PSYOP studios. The new companys space houses two flame suites, production staff and CG work stations. Even before unpacking its boxes at the new location, Massive Industries kicked into high gear - developing three new campaigns, one for Marshalls via Hill Holiday, another for American Stock Exchange Spider via DDB New York and Aquafina for BBDO.
PSYOP is totally talent driven, and as a stand-alone company, Massive Industries has equally tremendous talent, experience and potential in the New York market. By combining forces and blending capabilities in photoreal visual effects and cutting edge design, the possibilities are tremendous and unparalleled in any other company in the market, said Justin Booth-Clibborn, exec producer, PSYOP.
New York City-based PSYOP (www.psyop.tv) focuses on providing visual solutions in motion for the advertising & marketing, videogaming, broadcast and music video industries.
