Maniaci Upped to SVP, Development & Original Production, TV Land & Nick at Nite
Sal Maniaci has been promoted to the newly-created position of svp of development and original production for TV Land and Nick at Nite. He will continue to be based in New York City and will oversee the creation, development and execution of original programming and production for TV Land and Nick at Nite.
Maniaci has been instrumental in launching the originals agenda on both networks. TV Land and Nick at Nite have substantially increased original content since Maniaci joined the networks two years ago.
On TV Land (www.tvland.com), Maniaci is responsible for such popular programs as the annual TV LAND AWARDS: A CELEBRATION OF CLASSIC TV, featuring celebrities from television, music and film bestowing special tribute awards to some of television's most beloved series and stars; CHASING FARRAH, which followed the real-life happenings of iconic actress and sex symbol, Farrah Fawcett; an annual special produced in partnership with TV GUIDE that counts down monumental moments on television, as well as STILL BRADY AFTER ALL THESE YEARS and THE DICK VAN DYKE SHOW REVISITED, both of which garnered Emmy nominations for Maniaci.
On Nick at Nite, Maniaci developed the hit hidden camera series, HI-JINKS, which averages an audience of over two million viewers per week; NICK AT NITE'S SEARCH FOR THE FUNNIEST MOM IN AMERICA a national contest in search of the next Roseanne and FATHERHOOD, a show based on Bill Cosby's bestselling book of the same name.

Maniaci previously served as vp, development and production for TV Land and Nick at Nite. Prior to that, he was vp of current series and sports production for The New TNN (now known as Spike TV). Prior to TNN, Maniaci was vp of current series at Nickelodeon where he was instrumental in the success of such hit properties as KENAN & KEL, THE AMANDA SHOW and the annual NICKELODEON KIDS' CHOICE AWARDS, among others. Maniaci joined Nickelodeon in 1994.
Prior to joining Nickelodeon, he worked at Lifetime Television as director of production overseeing the network's then-signature talk show, Attitudes, as well as the network's series of comedy specials. Earlier, he worked on the ABC informational series, FYI, after starting his career as a page at CBS.
Nick at Nite (www.nick-at-nite.com) is one of cable's highest-rated networks among such coveted demos as adults 18-49, women 18-49, Adults 18-34 and African Americans 18-49 and is also pacing to have its most watched year ever among total viewers, up 13% over last year.
