LOS ANGELES, CA – Mark Driscoll, President of LOOK Effects, will be participating in “The Business of the Business: The State of the Union in 2011-2012” panel at the SIGGRAPH Business Symposium on Sunday, August 5th. The Business Symposium is part of SIGGRAPH2012, the 39th conference and exhibition on computer graphics and interactive techniques. The morning panel includes business leaders from visual effects production facilities, film and interactive entertainment content creators and education institutions from around the globe. Driscoll is scheduled to be joined by fellow panelists Will Cohen, Managing Director/Executive Producer for Mill Film and Mill TV; Patrick Davenport, Vice President Creative Operations, Method Studios; Hael Kobayashi, Executive Director, Creative Innovation, University of Technology, Sydney; Lee Berger, President, Rhythm & Hues' Film Division and CEO, East Grand Films; and Habib Zargarpour, Creative Director, Microsoft Studios.

Mark Driscoll, President, Executive Producer and Co-founder, is responsible for LOOK’s management and long-term strategic planning, as well as serving as Executive Producer for all of the company’s key projects. These projects include feature film, special venue and episodic television projects for Warner Bros., 20th Century Fox, Walt Disney and Sony Pictures. Recent film and television projects include The Dictator, Moonrise Kingdom, Underworld Awakening, The Muppets, Limitless, Black Swan, “The Finder”, “Lost”, “Bones”, Step up 3D, Fast Five and The King’s Speech Driscoll is a graduate of MIT with a degree in mechanical engineering and architecture. He worked in the technology and financial industries in Boston until he moved to LA to start his career in film, a dream of his since working in theater for the Hasty Pudding in Boston. Driscoll worked for Digital Domain, producing live-action projects and digital postproduction. He also served as digital effects production manager at Blue Sky/VIFX before launching LOOK in 1997. His original vision was to start a full-service visual effects company that focused on high-quality computer graphics for independent films and small productions. While the company has grown and the vision has expanded, the focus on working collaboratively with directors and artists still drives Mark’s working philosophy. Mark, lives in Los Angeles with his wife and son and, in his spare time, enjoys following the latest political banter.
