After two years of Pay-TV broadcast in Australia and New Zealand, LAZYTOWN now also airs on ABC TV in Australia and TV 3 in New Zealand. As well as broadcasting the TV episodes, all three channels are using the music video clips and 30 second shorts as between program interstitials.
Wild Pumpkin is the Australian Licensing Agent and Global is the New Zealand Licensing Agent.
The principal consumer product licensees are now in place, with Roadshow Ent. representing video and music, Five Mile Press representing publishing rights and Mattel is the master toy licensee. In May, Roadshow launched the first DVD and Mattel launched their toy line.
In September, Magnus Scheving will be visiting key Australian cities on a promotional tour. In Melbourne, Magnus will star at a public LAZYTOWN Fun Day and in Sydney, he will launch a national preschool and kindergarten health and outdoor activity campaign, being released through the LAZYTOWN magazine media partner, Yarra Media.
The national LAZYTOWN healthy eating and active lifestyle campaign will see a full-size LAZYTOWN wall chart delivered into every pre-school and primary school in Australia and will be supported by a Sports Candy healthy food promotion in one of Australia's largest supermarket chains.
LAZYTOWN Down Under is set to become an integral part of young Australian and New Zealander's lives, making them healthier and living an outdoor active life.
Dean Koocher, Senior Sales Executive for Australasia said, "It has been amazing to see how LAZYTOWN has rolled out in the Australian market. Since the show was launched on Nickelodeon two years ago, we have worked steadily to put the ideal partners in place across the board, and are now seeing the results. We are moving forward into the next phase, and with the national campaign and the promotional visit on the horizon, the Australian team are well on their way to making LAZYTOWN the leading brand Down Under."
