LONDON -- Kids’ and family entertainment content distributor CAKE has announced a distribution deal for new pre-school animation series Space Racers.
Space Racers (50 x 11’) flies young viewers straight into the thrilling world of Stardust Bay, home of the Stardust Space Academy where Eagle, Hawk, Robyn, and their fellow cadets make up a super elite space-bound task force known as the Space Racers.
The world of the Space Racers is a fantastic place populated by talking spaceships and vehicles. With so many high-powered spacecraft around, to fly higher than most you have to be really special – and special is exactly what Eagle and his friends are.
Stunning CGI brings their adventures and their world vividly to life – full of excitement, character, and charm. The setting of the series’ episodes in and around space makes this a unique kind of action comedy for pre-schoolers. Furthermore, NASA is attached as a technical consultant on aspects of science and space technology within the series. Even real space sounds and images will be used in the programme.
The team behind Space Racers includes creator and executive producer Richard Schweiger, director Mark Risley (Rugrats, The Wild Thornberrys) and lead writer Allan Neuwirth (The Octonauts).
“In the current competitive environment that is pre-school, introducing a series with a truly new point of view is something we take great pride in. The setting and tone of Space Racers will entertain preschoolers with thrilling stories and loveable characters,” said Tom Van Waveren, CEO & Creative Director, CAKE. “Looking out at the night sky will never be the same again!”
Richard Schweiger, Creator and Executive Producer, commented, “We are thrilled to be partnering with CAKE on the Space Racers series. The goal for the show is to inspire children to learn more about space and science through our fun and adventurous world of talking spaceships. We believe CAKE will do a tremendous job in spreading the Space Racers’ message across international markets.”
