Legendary Animators Teach Summer Programs At VanArts School
This summer, VanArts (Vancouver Institute of Media Arts) will hold
one month intensive workshop in classical and computer animation.
There are no prerequisites. Special guest instructors Ken Southworth,
a 55-year veteran from Disney, MGM and Hanna-Barbera, and Bob
Godfrey, the Academy Award winning British director, will teach the
July and August classical animation programs. Students will gain a
strong foundation in classical animation and life drawing, becoming
familiar with the basic principles of animation, i.e. squash &
stretch, anticipation & follow-through, secondary action,
line-of-action posing, etc. Final animations will be output to video.
