Kidscreen and the China Animation Association have finalized the conference sessions that will be presented at their first-ever Kidscreen East event next month.
Featuring professional learning opportunities for execs working in Asia and beyond, the China-based event’s multi-track program is designed to cater equally to those who want to do more business in Asia, and those who want to expand their property’s reach beyond Asia into the global market.
Highlights for international attendees include a panel session called “Box-Office Boom” that will explore China’s exploding market for animated films, an “Asian Webnets to Watch” foray into the plans and content needs of leading kids IPTV buyers in the region, and an in-depth look at China’s licensing, product and retail landscape for kids properties with “Big Country, Big Opportunity.”
Kidscreen East will also feature some of Kidscreen’s most popular session and networking formats, but focused on providing connections to Asian buyers and partners. A series of “30 Minutes with…” sessions will shine a spotlight one of China’s strongest co-producer (CCTV Animation), broadcasters (Aniworld) and licensing agencies (Promotional Partners Worldwide). And our Speed Pitching sessions will set attendees up in 10-minute meetings with leading Asian buyers from Nickelodeon, Discovery, Korea’s EBS and China’s CCTV and Aniworld.
The inaugural Kidscreen East is set to take place July 22 to 24 in Qingdao, China. In addition to attracting kids media producers, distributors, broadcasters and consumer products professionals from elsewhere in the world, Kidscreen East will be attended by many leading Chinese executives working in the same circles, drawing from the China Animation Association’s membership. Roughly 400 companies currently belong to CAA, including 38 children’s and animation TV channels, and all of China’s top animation studios (including CCTV Animation, Shanghai Animation Film Studio, Guangdong Alpha Animation, and Shenzen Huaqiang Digital Animation).
