Janet Hill New EVP of Paramount Pictures Corp. Communications
Janet Hill takes on the newly created position of evp of corp. communications, Paramount Pictures, overseeing internal and external business plus media communications and public relations.
"As we continue to reinvent the studio and work to improve the culture, Janet will play a key role for us, said Paramount Pictures chairman/ceo Brad Grey, to whom she reports. She brings tremendous communications experience from MTV Networks and her many years in the film industry, along with a track record of successes and strong leadership skills to this new role. She has worked along with the Paramount team on many of MTV Films' big hits, including JACKASS: THE MOVIE, THE LONGEST YARD, COACH CARTER, and BETTER LUCK TOMORROW, as well as Nick Movies hits, including LEMONY SNICKETS A SERIES OF UNFORTUNATE EVENTS and THE SPONGEBOB SQUAREPANTS MOVIE."
In addition to working with Grey, Gail Berman and the studio's executive team, Hill will also work closely with Nancy Kirkpatrick, evp of worldwide publicity, who will continue to handle the day-to-day feature publicity operations for Paramount Pictures. Berman reports to Gerry Rich, president of worldwide marketing.
Hill recently served as the svp of west coast corp. communications for MTV Networks, where she managed all of MTV Networks' internal and external communications, including business, trade and consumer publicity on the west coast.
Previously Hill was evp of publicity for Miramax Films, where she worked for eight year. She was involved with campaigns on films, including PULP FICTION, IL POSTINO, THE ENGLISH PATIENT, SCREAM, GOOD WILL HUNTING, SHAKESPEARE IN LOVE, CHOCOLAT and IN THE BEDROOM. Hill was a partner in Yorke & Hill Public relations before joining Miramax in 1994. She began her career at Tri-Star Pictures in New York City and went on to work as a publicist in Tri-Star's Los Angeles offices before joining PMK Public Relations as a senior account Exec.
