The game was developed by Remedy Entertainment and 3D Realms. George Broussard, president of 3D Realms, said, "MAX PAYNE captures the mood and feeling of a classic film noir detective thriller and Remedy has crafted a movie quality script in the process. It's all about action, but there is a deep and rich plot here to uncover as you play. We can't wait for people to experience the Payne." Kelly Sumner, CEO of Take-Two, said, "Max Payne has some of the most stunning visual graphics ever seen on a PC game and there is no doubt that consumer enthusiasm has reached fever pitch for the title. MAX PAYNE is the company's biggest PC day one ship ever and it is very exciting to add such a strong new title to Take-Two's line of successful brand franchises." Take-Two will also be shipping MOTOCROSS MANIA for PlayStation and RUNE: VIKING WARLORD and CITY CRISIS both for PlayStation 2.
