has won a raft of online commissions. The company is also breaking new ground in content for handheld platforms, interactive television, PC and Web and is extending its gaming technology development with an innovative project for the Nintendo DS system.
DECODE, working in conjunction with Electron Jump, is developing an original gaming engine for the newly launched Nintendo DS dual screen handheld system. The multiplayer realtime strategy engine, which can be applied to a number of games, is part of a prototype that is targeted for completion in Sept. 2005.
DECODE is also producing an interactive television extension of its family factual show BE THE CREATURE in conjunction with The Kratt Brothers and TeleQuebec. The interactive enhancement functions on the illicosset top box system and provides users with the ability to read through the Kratt Brothers journals, play trivia games and access additional images related to the broadcast of the show.
This interactive television application is one component of a large multimedia offering for BE THE CREATURE developed by DECODE Interactive that includes a Web project, an extensive education resource and an immersive role playing game for PC. The Web content has been developed with assistance of The National Geographic Channel (U.S.), TeleQuebec and CBC.
DECODE has also completed production of FRANNYS FEET Interactive. This animated preschool project is developed in conjunction with Family.ca, ABC Australia and The Bell New Media Fund and launched in early Dec. 2004 on Family.ca.
FRANNYS FEET Online shares Frannys animated world with young fans of the television show. Users can upload images to star in their own Franny movie and there are coloring sheets, collectables and other activities based on the Pulcinella award-winning hit series.
DECODE has also signed a trio of new deals with SuperRTL for extended ANGELA ANACONDA interactive content. The German broadcaster has signed a three-year renewal license for the ANGELA ANACONDA Website and commissioned a new online activity starring Angelas sidekick Gina Lash. DECODE Interactive is also set to co-develop a series of content for SuperRTLs subscription based Website Toggolino.
Dan Fill, vp interactive at DECODE Ent., said, We have a very exciting slate of interactive projects for this year. We are expanding into new and emerging entertainment platforms such as handheld gaming and application development. This original development illustrates once again a solid commitment to offering broadcasters multi-platform licensing and partnership opportunities.
