Ingham Flies To Bardel For Silverwing
Director Keith Ingham has joined Bardel Entertainment to helm SILVERWING, a new animated television series based on Kenneth Oppel's best selling children's novel of the same name. Ingham came to Bardel from Walt Disney Animation Canada, where he worked for 3 years as an associate director on direct-to-video projects including THE LITTLE MERMAID: RETURN TO THE SEA and BEAUTY AND THE BEAST: ENCHANTED CHRISTMAS. Ingham also produced and directed the television special WINNIE THE POOH, A VALENTINE FOR YOU. Previously, Ingham had worked as a storyboard artist for Don Bluth Entertainment and on three feature films based on the Asterix character for Teleproductions Gaumont in Europe. SILVERWING is the first of three books that tell the saga of the bat Shade Silverwing and his descendents. The series is scheduled to air on Teletoon in fall 2003. Bardel hopes to co-produce a feature film with Max Howard based on the property. "Ken Oppel's trilogy of books have created a magical world which is ideally suited to animation," said Howard. "I am optimistic that the success of this television series, and Bardel's proven expertise in animation production, will lay the foundations for a feature film that we look forward to producing with them."
