After Twentieth Century Fox debuted footage from Ang Lee's adaptation of Yann Martel's best-selling novel at CinemaCon in the spring, the studio attached clips from Life of Pi to its 3D summer releases such as Prometheus and Ice Age: Continental Drift. Now the studio has given moviegoers a first extended look at the film, with stunning visuals:
Life of Pi isn't the only film this season trying to expand the use of 3D imagery into genres other than superhero movies and Michael Bay action flicks. The Wrap [1] reports that Baz Luhrmann is also experimenting with extra dimensionality in his upcoming adaptation of The Great Gatsby.
With a cast that includes Tobey Maguire, Irrfan Kahn and Suraj Sharma, Life of Pi is set to release on November 21, 2012.
