Eick Named EVP of USA Cable Entertainment
David Eick has been named to the newly created post of evp, USA Cable Entertainment (UCE). He will oversee all aspects of the division, which develops, finances and acquires original programs for broadcast on the USA Network and SCI FI Channel.
Previously, Eick served as a development exec for Studios USA where he developed and produced programming, including INSEPARABLE, a modern day Jeckyl and Hyde thriller, for CBS, and the upcoming four-hour mini-series BATTLESTAR GALACTICA for SCI FI. Before that, he spent more than two years as svp of original series development for USA Network, where he oversaw all original series for USA Network and SCI FI Channel. He was responsible for the launch of SCI FIs THE INVISIBLE MAN series. Before joining USA Network, he was at Renaissance Pictures for six years, where he held various positions, including director of development, vp of television and president of television. There, he produced the syndicated hit HERCULES: THE LEGENDARY JOURNEYS as well as co-developing and launching its spin-off, XENA: WARRIOR PRINCESS.
