files/pictures/picture-35.jpgVinton Studios will launch Project Backpocket June 21 - August 20, 2004 in Portland, Oregon, where a team of college students will team with top creatives from the advertising industry to create an original short film.
"We wanted to really test the interns creatively and put them in a situation where they have to work together and deliver, the way most films are made in the real world," says Paul Golden, president of advertising for Vinton Studios. "At the same time, it occurred to us that there are a lot of creatives at agencies with ideas burning a hole in their back pocket. Why not bring these folks together?"
Six to eight students, chosen for their diverse talents in the areas of animation, design, photography and conceptual work, will form the production team. An advertising creative will be selected to act as client/mentor and provide the project idea that will be executed by the student team. Vinton Studios will provide living space and expenses, workspace, computer equipment, access to film and post-production equipment. The project will be produced by a Vinton Studios' producer and will be shepherded by a studio director. Student and creative application information can be found on Vinton's Website at www.vinton.com
Vinton Studios, with offices in Portland and Los Angeles, is one of the premier creators of character animation in the world. The studio has garnered every major entertainment and advertising award, including an Academy Award, four Academy Award nominations, 11 Emmys and 10 Clios.
