Press Release from The Foundry
*London**. The Foundry, a leading developer of visual effects software whose products have been used to make globally acclaimed movies such as Avatar and Robin Hood, is pleased to announce that a number of specialist VFX educational centres in Singapore and across Asia are investing heavily in its powerful compositing tools Nuke and NukeX.
With Nuke site licenses in place at award winning VFX houses worldwide and the demand for Nuke operators increasing, four educational institutes in Singapore will offer Nuke training next semester.
Singapore’s ITE have invested in 67 Nuke seats and Ngee Ann Polytechnic’s School of Film and Media Studies has acquired NukeX licenses for its Diploma in Digital Effects course, where Nuke will be used as the compositor of choice. Nanyang Technological University's School of Art, Design and Media and New York University TischAsia's School of the Arts will also provide specialist Nuke training to their students.
In addition, the Korea Creative Content Agency who specialise in courses for broadcasting and game creation and The City University of Hong Kong have also purchased Nuke for their specialist VFX and creative training facilities.
Liswanto, School of Film & Media Studies, Ngee Ann Polytechnic, Singapore, said: “We choose to teach Nuke because it’s very powerful and it’s a natural replacement for Shake. However, the most important factor for us is that Nuke has also become the international standard industry compositing tool and that means more job opportunities for our students when they graduate.”
Bong-Hyun, Joo, Korea Creative Content Agency, said, “Nuke usage is growing worldwide and the demand for stereoscopic content has increased so we see Nuke as a must-have tool for our curriculum.”
Leung Hiu Ming, School of Creative Media, City University of Hong Kong, said, “We want to arm our students with the latest knowledge and professional skills to help them realise their ideas and bring great content to the industry. We feel very confident and comfortable adopting Nuke at our facility because of its outstanding and industry proven quality. However, the most important factor for us is that Nuke is becoming the industry standard compositing tool for Visual Effects work and that means more opportunity for our students when they graduate to find a job in the industry.”
The Foundry’s Matt Plec will provide live demonstrations of Nuke and our other specialist VFX products at Broadcast Asia in Singapore from 15^th to 19^th June. Matt will be on our booth at, our appointed Singapore reseller, Media Village’s stand #8K3-01 throughout the show.
