eDIT 9.Filmmaker's Festival Announces Program
The complete program is now available online for the Visual Effects Societys eDIT 9. Filmmakers Festival in Frankfurt, Germany, Sept. 24-26.
The festival program is subdivided into the following thematic program areas: feature film, animation, commercials, television, media industry and for the first time documentary. In addition, the festival's guests of honor will be interviewed at the Festival Honors Salon.
Filmmaker's Festival Screenings present a Best of Festivals (onedotzero, Future film festival, bitfilm Festival, Animation World Network) plus Best of Dok (Workingman's Death, Höllentour), eDIT: eDucation informs newcomers about qualification and career in the media industry.

Apart from this years Hollywood blockbusters THE PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN: DEAD MAN'S CHEST, POSEIDON, SUPERMAN RETURNS and CARS, the program features several German films. Vit Komrzy (Universal Production Partners, Prague) presents a making of DAS PARFÜM and demonstrates how invisible effects speed up storytelling. The long-awaited film based on Patrick Süskind's bestseller will be released in Germany on Sept. 14. HUI BUH, the new film version of the ghost classic for children, combines computer-animated figures with real actors. Director Sebastian Niemann, producer Christian Becker, animator Michael Coldewey (Trixter) and vfx supervisor Thomas Zauner (CA Scanline) will explain the practical cooperation and creative coordination in this ambitious project. The program area feature film is supported by Frankfurt Economic Development.
AWN and VFXWORLD are special media sponsors and will be sponsoring eDward VII, a young filmmakers contest and awards that celebrate the work of talented artists under the age of 30. This years theme is Time Travel.
