Reveal 06Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada May 2, 2006Deadline: April 7, 2006
Electronic Arts is hosting 'Reveal 06' the company's second annual computer animation competition. Building on the success of last year's contest, EA is inviting graduating Canadian art and 3D animation students to submit their best animated short video for a chance to win a $20,000 grand prize and a matching grant to the grand prize winner's alma mater. The four-minute shorts will be reviewed by a panel of award-winning EA art directors.
Reveal 06 challenges students to demonstrate their skill and creativity by crafting a short that showcases excellence in digital animation. The judges will select the winners based on technical ability, originality, creativity and artistic merit. In addition to the grand prize, EA will award first, second and third place winners with $3,000, $1,500 and $500 prizes respectively. The top 25 finalists will be flown to Electronic Arts' Vancouver Studio for the final judging. The finalists will also be invited to an Awards Presentation in Vancouver where the winners will be revealed and prizes awarded.
The EA judging panel is led by Henry LaBounta, Chief Visual Officer at EA Canada. LaBounta has been animating digital effects for more than 20 years.
