Digital Musings from the Editor:
With everyone naturally concerned about the impact of the recession on the industry, I asked Jenny Fulle to provide her take on the situation and her prescription for recovery. Jenny, of course, was EVP of Production/Exec Producer at Sony Pictures Imageworks, as well as a frequent contributor to our "Digital Eye" column. She is now co-founder with Marc Kolbe of the Creative-Cartel, a production company specializing in the utilization of a globally-based digital community. Not surprisingly, her analysis is a very practical, common-sense approach that relies primarily on a leaner, more cost-effective "production shingle" model, and points to 2012 and THE GOLDEN COMPASS as excellent examples of the new model.
