The trade paperback compiles the first three chapters of Franck’s debut comic series, Silver, with 87 pages of comics content plus extra material including pin-up art by guest artists such as animation superstar and comic artist Rodolphe “Rodguen” Guenoden, and comics favorite and kickstarter superstar Takeshi Miyazawa (Runaways, Code Monkey Saves The World).
Expanding Bram Stoker's original universe fifty years forward, into the pulp era of the 1930's, Stephan Franck's Silver introduces James Finnigan, a witty but (figuratively) soulless con man, who sets out to separate the living-dead from their precious silver. Personality conflicts, emotional entanglements and character comedy abound, as Finnigan assembles the crew of talented but broken misfits needed to pull off the heist of the last ten centuries.
The first two chapters of Silver sold out almost instantly to rave reviews, and Silver volume 1 makes its debut this weekend at the Emerald City Comic-Con, booth 508. To pre-order or check out this year's convention schedule, visit www.darkplanetcomics.com.
Watch Stephan Franck talk about the inspiration for his new graphic novel, Silver Volume 1:
With a long list of credits in animation, Franck was a supervising animator on fan favorite The Iron Giant, and storyboarded large portions of Despicable Me. He also co-created the cult Nicktoons TV show Corneil & Bernie, which airs in over 100 countries. Franck is currently developing new animation projects with Sony Pictures Animation.
