Dan Ritchie announces PD Pro Digital Painter v3.1
Dan Ritchie, author of the award-winning paint and animation software Project Dogwaffle and PD Pro, has announced the availability of a new update called version 3.1, available for as a free download to users of PD Pro 3.0 and as a full version installer to new users.
"We've added a number of exciting new features in this one," said Ritchie "There's a new histogram panel, keyboard shortcuts to copy and paste a custom brush straight to/from the Clipboard and to clear the selection in Alpha. Tools for making animations loopable, various speed improvements, saving animated brushes directly as image sequence, and a new Batch processor which we think is very cool."
Other new features include:
* An updated file browser, which now caches thumbnails for speed.
* The Timeline now sports several new compositing modes that let you select an image sequence to composite over, allowing amongst other things an animation to be processed against another animation.
* You can now reverse fields on all frames from the frames animation submenu.
* Batch processing: Available from the File menu, it offers numerous filters to be applied to image files and saved to many formats.
At the same time, new content has been added to the online help files. They represent a continuously maintained and updated User's Guide, which can be downloaded compressed in a single zip file for local viewing or consulted online at TheBest3D.com/dogwaffle/help
Several new tutorials have been added online at thebest3d.com/dogwaffle/tuts.
"This marks a new phase for PD Pro, going from 3.0 to 3.1.," added Ritchie. We've added to the set of tools offered. We've improved performance, and we've identified and fixed a few bugs, with great feedback and support from enthusiastic hobbyists and professionals alike, as witnessed also by new gallery entries in the Dogwaffler of the Moment section (DOTM) of our website. We're proud to observe that some respectable design studios have taken a liking to PD Pro, while we also notice hobbyists making the commitment from the free version 1.2 to PD Pro or the very affordable Project Dogwaffle 2
Current users of PD Pro v3.0 can update freely to 3.1, by download from www.thebest3d.com/dogwaffle/patches.
PD Pro 3.1 is priced at $97, with upgrades from earlier versions starting at $35.
