Hornet is pleased to announce the signing of Julia Pott for global representation. Equal parts English and American, Julia was raised in London and recently completed her schooling at the Royal College of Art, receiving a Masters in Animation.
An animator of the extraordinary, Julia’s distinct sensitivity may well have been pried from the still beating heart of a magical rainbow, or cleaved off the back of the mighty wooly mammoth. Her witty and childlike designs have captured audiences from all over.
In addition to her short films and illustrations, Julia has worked for clients such as Bat for Lashes, Etsy, The Decemberists, J. Crew, Malibu Rum, Skins and Toyota. In fact we truly fell head over heels for her when she participated in The Decemberists Hazards of Love project. How could we not work with her? Her deceptively sweet characters are lovable and so full of angst…a perfect combination for telling stories that haunt you while reaching into your soul to give it a tickle.
Her latest film, Belly, takes place underwater, in fantastical settings that half exist in a reality we recognize as our own. Like all of Julia’s work, shades of the familiar are evident but the worlds she creates are so unique; they make us feel a bit unsettled, in a great way. Belly will be launching this fall, but you can find a teaser for it at http://www.hornetinc.com/site/project.php?id_project=345&id_director=18
Fun fact about Julia, there is no one working today who can drink even a fraction of the milkshakes she can, and still have room left for root beer.

Hornet's European representation partner, Passion Pictures, will look after Julia through its ongoing representation of the Hornet roster.
