Comedy Central will launch its first original animated mobile series SAMURAI LOVE GOD, to premiere in first quarter 2006 and launch cross carriers with eight two-and-a-half minute episodes. The adult series features the voices of adult film star Jenna Jameson and THE DAILY SHOW correspondent Ed Helms.
SAMURAI LOVE GOD comes from a distant and erotic land where the ancient secrets of seduction are passed down through generations of Kama Sutra, oyster-popping, orgy-loving horn dogs. The Dali Licky Lama, the Gandhi from Behindi, is the messiah, savior and sensei for men everywhere. He is The Samurai Love God.
Voicing the animated characters will be Helms as The Samurai Love God, Jameson as P-Whip, comedian Lisa Lampanelli as Kay-Ock Block and comedian Christian Finnegan as Chip and James.
The SAMURAI LOVE GOD series of animated shorts was created by Eric Mahoney.
"The comedy genre works very well in short-form. It's a great visual and audio medium," said Lou Wallach, svp, original programming and development, Comedy Central. "We are thrilled that top comedians, actors and writers view Comedy Central as a leading destination for their digital content. SAMURAI LOVE GOD is the first of many mobile talent deals we look forward to announcing."
The launch of Comedy Centrals first original animated mobile series further demonstrates the networks commitment to developing and producing original quality programming exclusively for multi-platforms. Comedy Central, which recently unveiled its 2006 original broadband programming slate, has become a trailblazer in the digital content arena. Comedy Central (www.comedycentral.com), the only all-comedy network, currently is seen in more than 87 million homes nationwide. Comedy Central is owned by Comedy Partners, a wholly-owned division of MTV Networks.
