The annual Tribeca Film Festival in New York City will kick off its ninth year on April 21 with the premier of SHREK FOREVER AFTER, COMINGSOON.NET [1] reports.
The fourth installment of the DreamWorks Animation series is believed to be the final chapter of the story and the first one to be screened in 3-D.
In a press release, the festival's co-founder Jane Rosenthal said, "We have always sought to open our Festival with films that are captivating and strike an emotional chord with movie-goers. 'Shrek Forever After' combines the very best in storytelling and artistry while showcasing the wonders of innovative 3D filmmaking, [making it] one of the most anticipated new movies of 2010."
The film is slated to hit theaters nationwide on May 21.
