The annual Tribeca Film Festival in New York City will kick off its ninth year on April 21 with the premier of SHREK FOREVER AFTER, COMINGSOON.NET  reports.
The fourth installment of the DreamWorks Animation series is believed to be the final chapter of the story and the first one to be screened in 3-D.
In a press release, the festival's co-founder Jane Rosenthal said, "We have always sought to open our Festival with films that are captivating and strike an emotional chord with movie-goers. 'Shrek Forever After' combines the very best in storytelling and artistry while showcasing the wonders of innovative 3D filmmaking, [making it] one of the most anticipated new movies of 2010."
The film is slated to hit theaters nationwide on May 21.
