Press release from TEAK.
TEAK VFX Artist Mark Everson, working with @radical.media Director Steve Miller via Butler, Shine, Stern and Partners, handled the post and FX for the latest in Priceline's well-regarded faux-superhero Priceline Negotiator campaign.
The spot opens with Priceline's famous spokesman, William Shatner, approaching a hotel's reception desk and informing the clerk that one of the bargain site's customers has bid on a room for the amazing price of $65. When the smug clerk retorts that rooms typically go for double that rate, Shatner calls in Big Deal, a fur-coat clad enforcer who humorously argues, through a combination of common sense and brute force that the hotel would be best served by accepting the anonymous patron. Everson spruced up the background with replacement and shored up the star's appearance to fit him into character.
