Autodesk Wins National TV Academy Awards for 3ds Max & Maya
At the 59th Annual Technology and Engineering Awards, held last night (Jan. 7) in Las Vegas, Autodesk 3ds Max and Maya software were honored for Visual Digital Content Creation Tools and Their Impact in the Gaming category. Now in its fourth year, this category award recognizes breakthroughs in the gaming world.
Seth Haberman, chair of the Video Gaming and Technology Awards Panel, said, "An expert peer group studied digital content creation tools over a six-month period, and we unanimously awarded both Autodesk tools. The majority of videogames are created with Autodesk products. As well, these industry-standard tools continue to shape the most sophisticated digital content across numerous entertainment platforms. I congratulate Autodesk on driving 3D innovation with 3ds Max and Maya."

Other winners included: Nintendo DS and Nintendo Wii for Game Controller Innovation; Havok for Physics Engines; NEVERWINTER NIGHTS (AOL-Time Warner/Stormfront/Ubisoft/TSR-Wizards of the Coast), EVERQUEST (Sony Online Ent.) and WORLD OF WARCRAFT (Blizzard Ent.) for Development of Massively Multiplayer Online Graphical Role Playing Games.
