Art Directors Give Love to Awards Favorites
The Art Directors Guild has announced nominations in eight categories of Production Design for motion pictures, television and commercials competing in ADG's 13th Annual Excellence in Production Design Awards for 2008.
For Period Film, THE CURIOUS CASE OF BENJAMIN BUTTON is up against CHANGELING, DOUBT, FROST/NIXON and DOUBT.
For Fantasy Film, contenders are THE DARK KNIGHT, INDIANA JONES AND THE KINGDOM OF THE CRYSTAL SKULL, IRON MAN, THE SPIDERWICK CHRONICLES and WALL-E.
QUANTUM OF SOLACE is in the running for Contemporary Film alongside BURN AFTER READING, GRAN TORINO, SLUMDOG MILLIONAIRE and THE WRESTLER.
Announcement of nominations was made Friday by ADG Council President Tom Walsh and Awards co-producers John Sabato and John Janavs. Deadline for final voting by members of ADG is February 12. Black-tie ceremonies announcing winners will take place Saturday, February 14, from the International Ballroom of the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills, California.
