The Disney-ABC Television Group has instituted a new communications structure by promoting two key execs Sue Binford, who will now oversee all corporate communications and Kevin Brockman, who will now oversee all entertainment communications.
Andy Lewis has been promoted from svp/gm to evp/gm,Warner Bros. Animation. Lewis, who joined Warner Bros. Animation in 1997 in his previous position, will continue to oversee general management of the animation studio, including the day-to-day studio operations, business affairs, finance and administrative matters, as well as his involvement in business planning.

Marvel Enterprises has announced that Alan Fine, president/ceo of Marvel's Toy Biz division, will take on the additional role of president/ceo of Marvel Publishing. Fine is replacing Gui Karyo, who left his post as Marvel Publishings president/cio to pursue new business opportunities.
Nine new members have been appointed by Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences president Frank Pierson to the organization's year-old Science and Technology Council, bringing the number of members to 23.
The new members are Peter W. Anderson, visual effects branch; Clay M. Davis Jr., sound; David W. Kristen Buckley has been promoted from director to vp of programming for Nickelodeon, responsible for managing and maximizing Nickelodeon's on-air inventory. She develops strategic promotional and media plans in support of the network's initiatives and its ancillary businesses. Buckley oversees the implementation of these plans by partnering with the on-air creative teams on assignments and concepts for tune-in, events, packaged and live dayparts, as well as Nickelodeon Movies.
Suzy Barbieri joins Klasky Csupo Animation Studio as svp of feature film development. Barbieri will head up the feature film development team, which includes Michael Faulkner (vp of feature film development) and will work closely with studio founders Arlene Klasky and Gabor Csupo in developing a diversified slate of projects for the studio.

Geneon Ent. has hired Rand Brenner as its new director of licensing, reports VARIETY. Based in L.A., Brenner will oversee establishing, directing and executing licensing partnerships worldwide. Previously, he served as vp of licensing and merchandising at Saban, where he managed all licensing, including the MIGHTY MORPHIN POWER RANGERS. Most recently, Brenner was president/coo of startup Lasershield Systems.
Jennifer Moore has joined HI-WIRE in a newly created position of integrated services manager to focus on client development and services. Hema Govindan has been appointed head of marketing & communications for Walt Disney Television International (India), a division of The Walt Disney Company (India) Pvt. Ltd. in Mumbai. She will be responsible for putting in place an integrated marketing communications strategy and driving key research initiatives for Disneys television business in India, including its proposed pay TV channel operations as well as Disney branded programming blocks on mass entertainment channels.
DreamWorks coo Helene Hahn is resigning her post after 10 years with the company, reports VARIETY. She long been considered one of the top female execs and has been a partner with DreamWorks principal Jeffrey Katzenberg for more than 30 years. She will remain coo until a replacement can be found and will act as a consultant for a year following her departure.
Colleen Gallion has joined FilmCore Distribution and Vault Services, a leading provider of distribution and media management services for broadcast advertising, as manager of sales and marketing. She will focus on enhancing services to existing clients and developing new markets. She will also take a lead role in promoting FilmCores digital distribution and web-based asset management services.
Nintendo of America has promoted nine executives, seven to the position of senior director and two others to the position of director. All nine have significant experience with the company, helping shape the marketing of Nintendo GameCube, the best-selling Game Boy Advance and the upcoming Nintendo DS, which the company claims will revolutionize the way portable videogames are played.
Charlex, the New York-based 3D, animation and effects studio for film and television, has named Adam Isidore as vp/exec producer. He moves from BBDO New York where he held the same title. At BBDO, Isidore recently served as exec producer in charge of production for the Cingular Wireless account. In addition to producing several dozen Cingular spots, he also wrote a spot for the New York launch called SUBWAY, which won an Addy Award.

Universal Worldwide Home Entertainment president Louis Feola is exiting after 26 years with the studio, reports DAILY VARIETY.
Feola has headed UWHE since it was established in 1998 as the umbrella division for the studio's specialty production units that develop and produce content for home video and animated TV series, including Universal Home Entertainment Prods. (UHEP), Universal Pictures Visual Programming (UPVP) and Universal Cartoon Studios.
Marvel Enterprises has tapped former Saban exec Eric Rollman to head up its new direct-to-DVD venture with Lions Gate. As svp of home entertainment and TV production at Marvel Studios, he will oversee the development and production of animated DVD features. Set for a 2006 release, THE AVENGERS will be first title. In his new role, Rollman will oversee all aspects of this major commitment to original home entertainment programming, including development and production.
Noted animation industry veteran Troy Brooks has joined Pipelinefx as its cto. Brooks, formerly CG supervisor for the basketball franchises at Electronic Arts Canada, production systems supervisor at SquareUSA and lead programmer at Mainframe Ent., is a computer graphics animation pioneer with more than 13 years experience. "Troy is one of the most experienced animation experts in the industry. He knows the mechanics of both film and game production workflow inside and out," said Bill Spencer, Pipelinefx ceo.

Target Entertainment Ltd. expands is rights management business, appointing John Eastaff to the newly created position of director of marketing and brand licensing. He will head up Targets licensing, home entertainment and marketing activity as well as oversee the branding of the companys expanding slate of properties. He will also identify opportunities for newly acquired properties across various genres, which will be a key role as the company expands its rights management business.
Tim Dingersen, a designer, compositor and animator with experience in commercial and broadcast graphics, has joined Click 3x. Formerly of Curious Pictures, Dingersen has already completed his first assignment for Click 3x, a promotional campaign for Nickelodeon and is currently designing graphics for a long-form project for McDonald's (in conjunction with KanDoKid Films and director Jeff Kennedy).
After seven years as CaféFX's senior effects producer and supervisor, Vicki Weimer has been promoted to exec producer. Weimer, a 30-year veteran of the motion picture industry, will handle team building and oversee all CaféFX feature film projects.
"Vicki has been an incredible asset to us during her tenure here at the Café. She has actually been doing the EP role here for years. We are just making it official," said Jeff Barnes, ComputerCafé Group's president/ceo.
